AmeriCorps members are being sought for the Volunteer Center of Rhode Island AmeriCorps Program. The Volunteer Center of Rhode Island connects people and opportunities for effective volunteer community service. Through years of service, VCRI has promoted volunteerism statewide, connected volunteers to community needs; build the capacity for effective volunteerism through training and consultation, collaboration with community stakeholders where volunteers are involved.

The Volunteer Center of Rhode Island AmeriCorps Program is a part time volunteer position. Adults from ages 17 -71+ and all walks of life are encouraged to apply.  The members are required to complete 300 hours or 8 to 10 hours per week for maximum of 12 months ofservice and will receive training in areas such as disaster relief, CPR and first aid, time management, professionalism, public speaking, team building,community mapping and much more as well as a $1000 Educational Award upon completion of service. The AmeriCorps member will be placed at an agency to better meet the environmental, educational, public safety, homeland security and other needs of our community.
