Share Your Volunteer Story!

RSS XML FeedBackground Active Jan 20, 2005 to Feb 2, 2005

Do you have real stories about volunteer service that would inspire others to get out and volunteer? Would you like to share your story with more than 100,000 readers? If so, you should contribute your stories to Community Forward, a quarterly publication of the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network.

Community Forward is good news about helping our nation's communities. The Fall 2004 issue of Community Forward featured articles about volunteers changing the world, how to make service a family affair and how volunteers come together share the responsibilities of parenting as a community. The upcoming Winter 2005 issue will be packed with inspiring stories on volunteer service involving real people like you, your neighbors, co-workers and friends.

If you would like to contribute stories or ideas to Community Forward, send them to our new email address: CommunityForward@PointsofLight.org. You will be notified by email if your article is accepted for publication. Stories should be 250-500 words in length. We reserve the right to edit for length, clarity, and style prior to publication. The deadline for submissions for the Winter 2005 issue is Wednesday, February 2, 2005.

The Community Forward editorial team is available to answer questions. Complete submission guidelines and photo specs, along with questions to focus your writing, are available upon request. Just send an email to CommunityForward@PointsofLight.org. We look forward to receiving your contributions!

Look for the Winter 2005 issue of Community Forward in The Washington Times - coming soon!
