The Volunteer Center of Rhode Island is excited to now add internships to your potential opportunity searches.

These internship opportunities are posted by agencies registered on the Volunteer Center of Rhode Island's website.  The internships are more developed and detailed volunteer opportunities.  The internships are focused on helping students and professionals gain more experience.  The expectation of an intern is that they would commit at least 6 weeks and 5-20 hours a week to working with a particular agency.  Look for the special internship medallion.      

The internship opportunities are posted the same way the volunteer opportunities are, which means that you get a description of the opportunity including the contact information in case you would like to apply or ask more questions.  When searching, put the word "internship" (do not use the plural) into the keyword search.  In addition, you can click on the highlighted text of the agency's name and learn more about that agency and what their focus of work is.
