to provide opportunities for enrichment and interaction for adults above the age of 50 in an atmosphere of support and respect, and to maximize a sense of well being and health through participation in activities at the Center and in the community.

Description:
The Senior Center operates from 9-4:00 Monday-Thursday and from 9-3:00 on Friday every week. We offer classes, meals, educational speakers, social activities, trips, health screening, benefits counseling, information and referral to senior citizens.

History:
With a recommendation of the New Fairfield Commission on the Aging, The Senior Center opened in October of 1986 at the Company A fire hall with a 2 day a week program. In February of 1997 the Center was moved into a 4500 Sq ft leased space and went to a full week of programming.
The Center has an advisory committee which helps with planning and self assessment and a Friends (501C3) organization which helps with support and fundraising.
