Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut
Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut is dedicated to providing care, comfort and compassion for those touched by life-limiting illness and loss.
Description:
Regional Hospice was established to provide support and care for individuals with a terminal or life-limiting illness so that they might live as fully and comfortably as possible. In most cases, care is provided in the patient's home. Regional Hospice also cares for patients in Danbury Hospital, several area nursing homes, and in other long-term care facilities. Regional Hospice serves the towns of Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield, Sherman, Southbury and Wilton. The CARES at Home Program, which is our palliative care program, enables homecare patients with a serious illness and need for skilled nursing services, to seek curative treatments while they benefit from our palliative care expertise.
History:
Regional Hospice of Western Connecticut, Inc., was founded in 1983 following a grant award from the Northwestern Area Agency on Aging and a matching grant from Associated Internists of Danbury. Regional Hospice is a nonprofit, state-licensed agency, certified by Medicare as a Home Health Agency and a Hospice, and accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
