SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) is a national volunteer organization, a service partner of the Small Business Administration (SBA). SCORE is a non-profit organization which provides free and confidential business advice to small businesses and those who wish to form their own business. SCORE also conducts seminars and workshops on a variety of business topics. SCORE Counselors are experienced business men and women who find SCORE to be a very meaningful way to "give back" to their community.
Description:
Western Connecticut SCORE carries out the SCORE mission in three Connecticut locations: Danbury, New Milford and Waterbury. Client counseling is done by appointment and a client may return for additional assistance as many times as he/she feels is necessary. SCORE also conducts workshops and seminars on a variety of business related topics. We also provide counseling to not-for-profit organizations who request our assistance.
History:
SCORE was established by an act of Congress in 1964. There are now 389 chapters in the US and its territories, staffed by about 10,500 SCORE volunteers. Nearly 4.5 million small business owners have been helped by SCORE since 1964.
