New Milford Youth Agency

The New Milford Youth Agency creates, coordinates and fosters programs which promote the protection, welfare and well-being of the youth of the Town of New Milford consistent with the needs of local youth and families.

Description:
Through prevention, intervention and advocacy, the New Milford Youth Agency fosters positive development and provides opportunities for youth to become responsible members of the community. Their offerings include an agricultural work/study program at Sullivan Farm; before and after school care for school aged children; enrichment programs that introduce children to new cultural or educational classes and youth development and counseling groups. Throughout the year they also offer special event programming such as maple syruping demos, Bike Day, Earth Day, Greenhouse Projects, and Gardening Projects; as well as opportunities for community service.

History:
The New Milford Youth Agency was established by the Town of New Milford in 1977 to assess the needs of the youth of New Milford.

Most of the Agency's programs and services are offered to the youth of New Milford free of charge with the exception of Childcare and Extra Special Activities.
