Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on November 5, 2009 |
We are a nonprofit organization that matches volunteers with residents of elder care facilities or with those who are home bound and have no regular visitors. This opportunity has a flexible schedule and requires no special skills. You can play cards or games, do puzzles, read aloud or simply talk. The positive impact you will make is immeasurable to your friend and perhaps to you. Just a minimum of two hours per month for at least a six months will make a tremendous difference for someone. Our volunteers have been called angels and blessings by the people they visit. The smile on their faces when a volunteer enters their room is priceless. It's so easy to honor and enrich the life of others simply by your presence. To begin, an application is completed. When received and approved a brief orientation is given by the Program Administrator. Specific requirements of the different facilities we work with must then be fulfilled, for example, application, training, etc... The volunteer must have their own transportation. This opportunity is sponsored by: Golden Opportunities
