Do you enjoy working with children? Do you love history or art? The Mattatuck Museum of Waterbury, Connecticut is searching for Volunteer Museum Teachers to lead school programs and tours for students in grades 2 through 5. These programs include hands-on activities, inquiry-based teaching and focus on Waterbury history, labor history, art and sculpture techniques, and Connecticut artists. Join and volunteer at the Mattatuck Museum and gain back more than you give with your teaching! Training is provided for all school programs. A suitable volunteer candidate would have an interest and enjoy working with elementary school children, an interest in history and/or art, teaching experience and be able to lead a program for 2 hours (this includes climbing stairs, lifting objects approximately 10 pounds, and long periods of standing.
