The Candlewood Lake Authority is holding a Dragon Boat Race on June 20th at Lynn Deming Town Park in New Milford. Volunteers are needed for an assortment of tasks including: Dock Area Marshals (between 2 - 4) who assist in organizing Dragon Boat Racing Teams prior to getting into their boat; Finish Line Tech / Bathhouse Monitor (1) who will run results from race to the results board while keeping an eye on Team Village Bathhouse Area; Shuttle Parking Lot Attendants (2 - 4 in shifts) to work at New Milford High School parking lot; Clean up and tent breakdown crew (5) who will arrive around 3 PM to help break down the team village and clean the park up. Event Set Up Crew (5) who will meet on Friday, June 19th at Lynn Deming to help set the Team Village and other race stations up for the event on Saturday.
No training necessary. Volunteers need to be adults capable of interacting with the general public.  This opportunity is sponsored by: Candlewood Lake Authority

The CLA offices are located on Sawmill Road in Sherman, CT. From New Milford, take Rt. 37 west into Sherman. Sawmill Road will be right after the Sherman Library. Follow Sawmill down past the beach and playground. The office will be on the right. From Danbury of New Fairfield, follow Rt. 37 east or Rt 39 north until they merge for a short distance. Sawmill Road will be after the Historical Society's General Store and before the Sherman Library. |
