Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on November 20, 2009 |
We are currently looking for volunteers with grant writing experience. We need these volunteers to research appropriate grants for our agency and the animal rescue work that we do through various animal welfare networks. As a non-for profit agency, we rely on the generosity of our community and grants for funding. Grant writing can be a large part of our fund raising if we are able to dedicate a few volunteers to this initiative. We are looking for an organized individual with writing skills that can eloquently describe our needs and why we are entitled for various potential grants. For example, we can apply for a grant to increase our feral cat trapping which will then reduce the number of stray/feral cats in our community. We can also request grants for the general up keep of our shelter or if we begin a new initiative in the community such as our own spay/neuter clinic. All new volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and attend a volunteer orientation. For grant writing we require some grant writing experience or at least creative writing experience along with understanding of financial statement. This opportunity is sponsored by: Danbury Animal Welfare Society
