Thanksgiving Food Needed

Many area social service agencies will be trying to help their clients this Thanksgiving season.  If you can help someone in need, please contact the agencies listed below.  These agencies will take whatever you can help them with.  If you have general questions about these needs, please contact The Volunteer Center at 203-797-1154 or volunteers@volunteerdanbury.org.  Thank you for thinking of others.

THANKSGIVING FOOD SUGGESTIONS

FROZEN TURKEY about 10-12 lbs - STUFFING MIX - CANNED GRAVY - CRANBERRY SAUCE -MASHED POTATO MIX - CANNED CORN  -CANNED FRUIT - RICE -CANNED SOUP - CANNED GREEN BEANS - CANNED YAMS  - CANNED CARROTS - JUICE - CANDY - THANKSGIVING  NAPKINS
 

Community Action Committee of Danbury, through their Neighborhood Services Program, is again planning to distribute  300 food baskets to assist needy families this Thanksgiving.  Thanksgiving food items should be dropped off with the receptionist at the CACD Office at 66 North Street in Danbury by Tuesday, November 24 from 9:00 am–5:00 pm.  The Director for CACD's Neighborhood Services is Lisa Danzi. Her phone number is 203-744-4700x111 and her email is danzil@cacd-caa.org.  Grocery store certificates to use to purchase turkeys are preferred but they will also accept turkeys or monetary donations.

Family and Children's Aid outpatient clinic has 10 families who really need Thanksgiving food and turkeys. The contact person is Jeanna and she can be reached at jeanna.spatta@fcaweb.org. or 203-205-2694 or  They need the items by 11/24.

Interfaith AIDS Ministry has 85 clients they would like to help this Thanksgiving with food and turkeys.  Please contact Mike at 203-748-4077 or iammichaelgreene@sbcglobal.net if you can provide them with food.  They would like food on 11/23 or 11/24.

WeCahr advocates for individuals and families with developmental disabilities.  They have 4 very needy families they would love to provide with Thanksgiving food and turkeys.  Please contact Martha at 203-792-3540 or mburr@wecahr.org if you can help.

AIDS Project of Greater Danbury has 20 client families that are in need of Thanksgiving food and turkeys.  Please contact Marlan or Josefina if you can help them.  They can be reached at 203-778-2437 or apgd99@aol.com if you can help.

Hispanic Center of Greater Danbury has 30 client families they would like to provide "Baskets of Hope" to.  These Thanksgiving food baskets and turkeys will greatly assist the families. Items must be delivered by Monday, November 23.  Contact Leslie at 203-798-2855 or hispanicmngr@snet.net if you can help.
