On Saturday March 20th from 10am to 2pm, Danbury Hospital will be conducting its 13th Annual Children's Day! The purpose of the event is to provide a non-threatening way to introduce children to Danbury Hospital, by creating a fun-filled day of educational activities while at the same time promoting preventive health and safety. Last year this event attracted more than 1600 children and families! Special events will include: Tours of the Emergency Department, Duracell Center for Ambulatory Surgery, X-Ray Department and Pediatrics/Adolescent Unit. From 11am until Noon, there will be inspection of an ambulance, EMS, police and fire vehicles and helicopter, weather permitting. There will be three 40 minute performances (at 10:30, 11:45 and 1pm) by Singer/Songwriter/Storyteller John Farrell; as well as clown entertainment by "Dimples & Stripes". Free health screenings including vision, blood pressure and height/weight profiles will be avaliable, as well as special booths prommoting child safety, "Ask a Pediatrician" and good nutrition and exercise. Admission and parking is free, (parking is in the Red Parking garage on Locust Ave).
