2004 THANKSGIVING NEEDS FOR COMMUNITY ACTION COMMITTEE OF DANBURY (CACD) The Community Action Committee of Danbury, through their Neighborhood Services Program, is planning to distribute 500+ food baskets to assist needy families this Thanksgiving. They are in need of food baskets, grocery store certificates, turkey certificates, general food items, or monetary donations. Your items should be dropped off at the CACD Office at 66 North Street in Danbury during the week of November 15-19th from 9:00 am-5:00 pm. Items should be dropped off with the receptionist. The food baskets can also be dropped off at Wooster Manor (a senior housing site) located at 36 West Wooster Street in Danbury on Sunday, November 21st from 6:00 - 8:00 pm; Monday, November 22nd from 9am-4:30 pm; or Tuesday, November 23rd from 9am-4:30 pm. GROCERY STORE CERTIFICATES TO USE TOWARDS TURKEY purchase are preferred but will accept turkeys, too. You may also include anything else you think would be appropriate for a Thanksgiving meal. Note: if delivery is made close to Thanksgiving, then fresh vegetable and fruit items could be substituted for canned.
