United Way Of Western Connecticut - Stamford Office
We are a leader in mobilizing resources to improve lives and our communities. The United Way of Western Connecticut brings together community leaders, nonprofit organizations, volunteers and businesses to focus on the most pressing needs in our community and provides the resources - human, technical and financial - to get to the heart of problems.
Description:
United Way of Western Connecticut focuses on making a difference in three key areas: Income: Increasing independence and dignity for our most vulnerable neighbors Education: Helping kids succeed in school and life while helping families thrive Health: Promoting health and safety for all of our community members
History:
United Way has been serving Stamford for more than seventy years. Our merger in July 2007 has streamlined back office operations and allowed us to spend even more time focusing on the needs of Stamford. All the money raised in Stamford is invested in programs serving Stamford residents. The 2009-2011 applications for funding are out and we're looking for volunteers from Stamford to help us decide how money is invested in our community.
