Stamford Mentoring Partnership (STAMP)
Logo

The overall goal of STAMP is to support the development of healthy youth by addressing the need for positive adult contact, thereby reducing risk factors for negative behavior and enhancing protective factors for positive behavior through mentoring.

Description:
STAMP currently has 35 active mentor matches in six site locations. It is a one-to-one mentoring program that takes place at three community centers (Boys & Girls Club, Chester Addison, & CTE), at two of Stamford’s Public Schools (Westover, & Cloonan), and at one charter school (Trailblazers). Each site has a trained Site Coordinator who works as the liaison for the program with the STAMP Program Coordinator. We have thirty new mentors starting in the fall 09/10 school year and are expanding to more site locations across Stamford.

History:
In February of 2006 the Mayor’s Youth Services Bureau in consultation with Stamford Public Schools, community-based organizations and the Governor’s Prevention Partnership established a mentoring program, Stamford Mentoring Partnership, STAMP.
