Save The Sound
Save the Sound, a program of Connecticut Fund for the Environment, is dedicated to the restoration, protection, and appreciation of the Long Island Sound region through advocacy, education and research.
Description:
Save the Sound, a non-profit environmental organization based in New Haven, Connecticut, organizes year-round beach and riverfront cleanups, builds fish ladders and successfully defends the Sound from multi-national oil companies. Save the Sound has been leading the fight against Broadwater for the past three years.
History:
Our dedication to the Long Island Sound region began in 1972, when we were founded as The Long Island Sound Taskforce. We have grown over the years, and in 2004 Save the Sound officially became part of Connecticut Fund for the Environment.
