The mission of T.A.I.L.S. is to serve the community as a charitable organization that promotes spay/neutering of animals and provides financial support to humane organizations and individuals in pursuit of this goal. We are dedicated to vigorously promoting and educating the community about the importance of spay/neuter to reduce, and eventually eliminate, the killing of unwanted dogs, cats, and other animals.

Description:
TAILS is an all volunteer organization based in Fairfield County and is dedicated solely to promoting and funding spay/neutering of pet animals to end the pet overpopulation problem. We meet once a month (3rd Wednesday of the month) at 7:30pm at Norwalk City Hall just off exit 16 on I-95 (125 East Avenue), all are welcome to attend. We plan a variety of fundraising and awareness events throughout the year including a 140 spay/neuter event (Jan-Apr), a celebration of pets in May, ongoing eBay fundraiser, walk/run team (September), gift wrapping (Nov/Dec), cocktail party (various), store visits (ongoing) and many other events. We also spend a lot of time helping our fellow community members and organizations get their pets spay/neutered through our veterinarians with whom we've contracted as well as doing actual hands on trapping for feral (wild) cats. (Cat trapping is part of an ongoing Trap-Neuter-Return program we have which humanely traps the cat, gets it a brief exam, shots, & spay/neutered, then returns the cat to its origination point under the protection of its caretaker.) As with many other organizations - we are in need of help in all aspects of our operation. We'd love to have your help.

History:
Our organization incorporated in the State of Connecticut on April 9, 2001 and received our IRS 501(c)3 certification later that same year on November 29th, 2001. TAILS was founded by nine individuals who care deeply about ending the pet overpopulation problem here in Fairfield County. We hope you will join us in filling the spay/neuter awareness and funding gap which exists today. We can make a difference!
