Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on March 23, 2009 |
Our medical volunteers work in 4 hour clinic sessions (Tuesday morning and afternoon, Thursday afternoon and Saturday morning) where pure medicine can be practiced without too much time spent on paperwork. Two volunteer RNs and one or more interpreter(s) staff each clinic session. Our full-time RN Clinic Director is present during each session to provide continuity and coordination. Our patients are pro-active in caring for their health. The patients acknowledge and appreciate the level of care provided as well as our program's continuing commitment to each of them. As a result we enjoy a high rate of patient compliance. We require a completed AmeriCares Free Clinic application which can be found on our website, and a copy of a CT license as ell as a copy of Board Certification in either Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine. A professional reference is required if not on staff at Bridgeport Hospital or St. Vincent's Medical Center. If retired for two or more years we require evidence of continued work in a related medical field. We provide malpractice insurance at no charge to all medical volunteers who meet our insurer's requirements. This opportunity is sponsored by: Americares Free Clinic Of Bridgeport
