Change a life in one hour or less! Vision loss makes sorting mail and reading newspapers difficult, you can help! If you have an hour, you can take a neighbor shopping or pick up groceries on your way home. Spend time with an elder at their home or visit a local park, garden or senior center. Work with a neighbor to organize their family photos or make a scrapbook. Placements are within three to five miles of volunteer's home or work. Volunteers must have clean driving record and pass a criminal background check. Minimum insurance requirements for volunteer drivers are $50,000/$100,000 for third party liability and $5,000 for property damage liability. Volunteers are required to attend a one-time interview/training session in Windsor for approximately 1 1/4 hours. All placements will be within 5-10 miles of volunteer's home.
