Ever dreamed of designing the Macy's store windows? Have we got the volunteer opportunity for you! In our two busy Book Shops, we need someone who can manage suitable retail displays. The display manager would would work with shop managers to calendar appropriate displays, acquire props, books, and/or equipment for them, create signage, set up displays tear them down, and store them for next year. Book Shop volunteers would help whenever possible, under the display manager's supervision. We have a small budget for the acquisition of display material. This job could be performed on your schedule, within reason. It would need to be "kept at", however. We wouldn't want to have our Fourth of July display still waving on the 8th, e.g. We anticipate it would take 3-5 hours/week to accomplish this work.
Display manager must be creative, imaginative, and aware of current events. He or she must be able to execute interesting, appealing set-ups. He or she should be able to convert ideas into eye-catching displays that will sell books. We also need a volunteer who can supervise and communicate with other volunteers in planning for and maintaining displays. This opportunity is sponsored by: Friends of Ferguson Library Used Book Shops
