This may be just the volunteer job for you! Help a Volunteer Coordinator manage the 100 volunteers at two Book Shops run by the Friends of the Library.

Duties will include interviewing volunteer applicants, designing surveys, conducting exit interviews, following up on volunteers' experience, training, developing and implementing recognitions, covering for the Volunteer Coordinator in her absence, communicating with other volunteers by phone, blog, and in person, and many other duties.

Flexible schedule to suit your needs, as well as some set schedules to meet volunteers during their shifts. Expect to spend at least five hours a week contributing on site as the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator

Skills
We are looking for an approachable, conscientious individual who enjoys other people. He or she must be computer comfortable, creative, and detail-oriented. Being a good writer, and experience working in human resources a plus. The assistant volunteer coordinator must be able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English. Knowledge about books will be useful. Commitment to the Book Shop mission is crucial.
