Friends of Autistic People is seeking one or two volunteers to help implement our new filing system. The intern will have opportunities to develop independent thinking/writing skills followed by a review by the President or another FAP member. FAP is looking for an independent person who is quick thinking, has compassion for the disabled, and an interest in the world and foreign languages- in general a multi-faceted outgoing person. Computer/Technology - Help with website maintenance and design organizational skills essential Basic Computer skills and proficient typist Types of Duties: • Help to write the newsletter, copy-edit it. • Help write press releases. • Write e-mails on a multitude of subjects from referrals, to requests of info, to advocacy, etc. • Graphic design for flyers for announcements (optional skill). • Help compose flyers to e-mail to parents. • Contact with all professionals and parents, local state reps, etc. on matters relating to FAP’s work. • Participate in preparing events. • Phone work- updating addresses, etc. • Labels mailings, etc.
This work would be good for young people trying to give back, who are between jobs or on school vacation. This opportunity is sponsored by: FAP
