Volunteer Opportunity Details:

This unique volunteer opportunity will match you with a homebound senior, and through weekly home visits you will provide friendship, support, and renewed contact with the outside world. Activities may include, conversing, sharing a cup of tea, taking a walk, reading aloud or helping to sort and answer mail. Schedules are worked out between the volunteer and senior. Volunteers should be patient, reliable, and sensitive to the needs of older people. Volunteers will stay in regular contact with program manager and report prolonged absences, or other concerns. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to attend volunteer trainings throughout the year. A minimum commitment of six months is required, along with a personal interview as well as a background check. This opportunity is sponsored by: Family Centers
