CONNECTICUT BALLET, currently celebrating its 28th season of professional dance presentation and educational outreach, is seeking interested Board members from the corporate community for the 2009-2010 season. The organization is planning an exciting 28th anniversary season, including a full-length 'Nutcracker' production and a Spring repertory season at the Stamford Center for the Arts. The Board of Directors seeks individuals who appreciate the art of dance and wish to make a contribution toward building an enduring arts organization, assisting the paid staff in areas such as financial management, public relations, audience development, web-based marketing, special events planning, and strategic planning. The board of directors meets quarterly in Stamford or Hartford and is divided into working sub- committees. Board members are expected to make a minimum contribution of $250 annually to the organization (often matched by the employee’s employer) and to support the annual benefit gala. Many local corporate managers and executives have served on the organization’s board of directors during the past two decades. Connecticut Ballet maintains an official school, Connecticut Ballet Center, and is a resident performing company at Stamford Center for the Arts. For further information about board membership, please email Brett Raphael, Board President, at ctballet@ix.netcom.com or call 203-964-1211. Visit www.connecticutballet.com
A basic orientation process is in place for new Board members. Board members receive a Board Background Packet, visit the company rehearsals, and meet with staff. This opportunity is sponsored by: Connecticut Ballet

I learned about the Connecticut Ballet. Their help by providing more details, often by fax or e mail helped confirm plans. posted by LeslieAnn25 on September 6, 2005 |
