Volunteers will assist and respond to military members and their families when they need emergency messages sent out. For example; announcements regarding births, death of family members, good news and/ or bad news, etc. The time commitment varies as needed. Volunteers should be able to convey confidential information and sensitive news to family members, have good telephone skills and be able to follow directions and fill out forms clearly. Volunteers are invited to complete Red Cross volunteer orientation as well as the art of helping course. To volunteer please visit our website www.greenwichredcross.org and click on link What Can I do?, then Volunteer and download an application and authorization form. Overall Experience

Rewarding way to serve the community

The work done by volunteers at the Red Cross includes teaching first aid and CPR classes, volunteering to man first-aid stations at large outdoor events, and helping people who have been displaced from their homes by fire or natural disasters.
