The American Red Cross- Greenwich Chapter provides free transportation for Greenwich residents (using Red Cross vehicles) to assist those in our community that have no other way to get to health care services, doctor/dentist appointments, rehabilitation centers, physical therapists as well as various other places. This program is essential to assisting our neighbors.

The program is broken in to two driving shifts Monday through Thursday (1. 8:30 to 12:30 pm and 2. 12:30 to 4:30) and Friday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Volunteers should be willing to work with others, take 1 shift at least once per week, or whatever fits their schedule, and have a valid drivers license with a clean record. Volunteers will meet with our Director of Community Services for an orientation. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in spending time with others as well as meeting new and interesting folks in our community

4 Overall Experience    Experience rating
Rewarding way to serve the community
The work done by volunteers at the Red Cross includes teaching first aid and CPR classes, volunteering to man first-aid stations at large outdoor events, and helping people who have been displaced from their homes by fire or natural disasters. One important point is that the Greenwich Chapter has moved to 99 Indian Field Road (1 block from I-95 exit 4).
