Friendly Connections is a dynamic and diverse group of captivating seniors who meet on a regular basis over the phone. Everyday, people attend groups and classes and enjoy interactive discussions all by conference call. Volunteers can choose to lead a discussion or lecture a specific topic. You can speak on a particular interest, tell seniors about your hobby, explain the photos from your last great vacation, teach a class on anything from architecture to antiques, read a best selling novel or do a crossword puzzle. Groups are offered Monday through Friday. Volunteers commit to one hour per week, or one hour per month (depending on the topic), and you can volunteer from your own home or office, all you need is a telephone. Volunteers are required to come in for an interview for this position. This opportunity is sponsored by: Family Centers
