Volunteer Opportunity Details:
| Last updated on January 28, 2009 |
Our medical volunteers work in 3 hour clinic sessions (Wednesday late afternoons or Saturday mornings) where pure medicine can be practiced without time spent on too much paperwork. Two volunteer RNs and one or more volunteer screener(s) and interpreter(s) staff each clinic. Our full-time RN Clinic Director is present during each session to provide continuity and coordination. Our patients are pro-active in caring for their health. The patients acknowledge and appreciate the level of care provided, as well as, our program's continuing commitment to each of them and so, we enjoy a high rate of patient compliance. We require a completed AmeriCares Free Clinic application (found on our web site) and a copy of a CT license, as well as, a copy of Board certification in either Internal Medicine, Family Medicine or Emergency Medicine. A professional reference is required, if not on staff at Danbury Hospital and evidence of continued work in a related medical field, if retired two or more years. We provide malpractice insurance at no charge to all medical volunteers who meet our insurer's requirements. This opportunity is sponsored by: AmeriCares Free Clinic of Danbury
