Arizona Association For The Deaf-Blind - Tucson Chapter
The Arizona Association for the Deaf-Blind (AzADB) is a 501 non-profit, volunteer organization comprised of individuals who are deaf-blind or have a combined vision and hearing loss, their family members, support service providers and friends. Our goals are to improve the quality of life for those living with combined hearing and vision losses.
Description:
We provide support to individuals who have a combined vision and hearing loss, or are completely deaf-blind in the areas of self-advocacy, independent living, recreation & leisure, assistive technology and community access. I addition, we provide public education about the lived experience of people with combined vision and hearing loss in the public schools and various community organizations in general. Deaf-Blind individuals use trained Support Service Providers (SSP's) to help them access the community to meet their personal living needs and to reach out to the community at large.
