Tucson CARES
Tucson CARES. is a small but very active group providing Companion Animal Rescue, Education and Support. Our primary mission is to end the useless killing of unwanted, homeless companion animals. We rescue these cats and dogs in the Tucson area. Our animals come to us through a variety of ways: kill shelters, abandonment, cruelty cases, owner relinquishment, etc. We strongly support the principles set forth by Nathan Winograd and the No Kill Advocacy Center which believes that all animals deserve to live instead of being killed for lack of shelter space, medical care, etc. We need foster parents, trapping teams, pet handlers, dog walkers, assistants at special events, educators, speakers and more.
Description:
We provide our rescued pets with vet care, spay/neuter, micro-chipping, fostering in loving homes and successful placement in a loving, "forever" home. We also perform Trap-Neuter-Return of feral cats. These cats are considered wild and usually live outside in colonies. We provide training and equipment to neighborhoods and individuals who wish to assist these cats. Occasionally, we can provide a trappng team to assist. Cats that are friendly and have been trapped are reunited with their guardians. If we cannot locate them, we gladly adopt these cats to loving families.
