The Arc of Tucson supports and encourages persons with cognitive and other developmental disabilities to fully participate in every aspect of community life.
Description:
The Arc of Tucson provides assistance and advocacy to persons with cognitive and other developmental disabilities and their families. It has a remarkable history of being one of the nation's leading voices in speaking up on behalf of these individuals, encouraging self-advocacy, and bringing about the services and supports that are needed for full participation in the community. The Arc's services include provision of resource information to parents, educational events for teachers and the public, social activities and self advocacy training for adults with disabilities,an active connection to policy makers, scholarships to parents seeking training on ways to improve their child's life, video lending library, and quality of life reviews of group homes in Tucson.
