Intermountain Centers for Human Development
Intermountain Centers for Human Development provides the highest quality, community-based, individualized services in the most cost-effective manner to at-risk populations which include children and youth who have been diagnosed as emotionally disabled and/or behaviorally challenged, adults who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness, families in need of parenting skills and community resources in order to provide for their children, and individuals with developmental disabilities.
Description:
During the past thirty-five years, the scope of Intermountain Centers for Human Development services has expanded to include not only group residential services for youth and adults, but also foster care and therapeutic foster care homes for children and adults, semi-independent and Independent Living programs, and in-home services provided to children who have been identified as at-risk and their families. Intermountain operates programs throughout Pima County, on the Tohono O'odham Reservations, and in Yavapai County, AZ. An Indpendent Living program in New Mexico serves young Native American adults. The agency strives to assist each client in developing, through the least restrictive and most positive means, personal goals which consist of: self-sufficiency and self-management skills, a sense of personal worth, interpersonal and social skills, positive decision-making skills, academic and vocational skills, leisure skills, community awareness and responsibility, and personal responsibility and constructive future planning.
