Give our Seniors a lift (once a week, twice? It's up to you) take them to and from doctor appointments, to therapy or perhaps the dentist. The Eastside Neighbors Volunteer Program (ENVP) is working to fill a special need in the community. Volunteers can help seniors live independently in their own homes. Some seniors may not be able to without transportation assistance. Be part of a grassroots effort that connects seniors needing help with others that can help. Reimbursement for gas provided @ 58.5 cents per mile.
Position:
Volunteer Drivers.

Tasks:
Transport senior citizens residing in 85710,85711,85730, 85748 and parts of 85711 zip codes (southeast Tucson) to important errands and medical appointments particularly grocery shopping, doctor's visits, and required lab and pharmacy visits. Driving perimeters are to the West (Campbell) to the North (Fort Lowell) to the East (Houghton) and to the South (Irvington)

Requirements:
*Desire to become connected with seniors who need assistance
*Attendance to a volunteer interview and one time, two hour orientation and training provided by ENVP
*Availability in the morning or early afternoons (helpful, but not necessary)
*Current driver's license
*Auto insurance (good driving record last 3 years)
*21 year or older in age (ENVP has other opportunities to help needing seniors for younger volunteers, please call us to inquire)
