Project ACHIEVE is primarily an afterschool program at selected Amphitheater Sschool district schools. It's designed to improve student math and literacy skills. As a tutor/mentor you'll provide academic and emotional guidance, support, and friendship to an at-risk student, matched to your special strengths, interests and talents. Consistent relationships make a big impact on student attitude, attendance and performance. At least 85% of ACHIEVE students show improvements on standardized Math and English test scores after participating in the program for a year.
Volunteers may choose to work one-on-one with an individual student or work with a small group of students, always with the supervision and support of an Amphitheater School District staff person. Be part of a team where you can share your skills, learn about different cultures, and make a lasting difference in a child's life.
Volunteers are needed at Walker Elementary, 1750 W. Roller Coaster Road.
