Pre-Docent Coffee on Tuesday, April 8 at 10 am
Learn about becoming a Docent on Tuesday, April 8 at 10 am at an orientation coffee at the museum. Bring a friend! RSVP so we can have a packet ready for you.
Docents at the Tucson Museum of Art are dynamic, enthusiastic people with a lively interest in art. They relish the opportunity to learn more -- and they will; in docent training classes and in ongoing activities at the museum. Docents contribute to the cultural life of the community by giving tours of museum exhibitions, presenting art lectures to the public, and taking the excitement of art to children in school or hospitals. Docents welcome visitors at the reception desk, help in the research of exhibitions and artists, and assist the museum in related tasks. Volunteering as a docent at TMA is a work in progress; you'll learn more and more. Perhaps one of the nicest things is getting to know fellow art enthusiasts.
Training sessions for the 2008-2009 Docent Training class meet on Thursdays from 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm October through April. Some additional time for activities/field trips/observations will be scheduled.
For more information, or to RSVP, please call Katherine Wesolowski, Member and Visitor Services Manager, (520) 624-2333, ext. 106 or (email this person).
