Emergency Food Box Distribution
RSS XML FeedBackground Active Jan 3, 2009 to Jan 23, 2009

A new year and a new venture to stamp out hunger…

The Community Food Bank is taking over the distribution of emergency food boxes at Parks and Recreation sites. We'll be at each site once or twice per month depending on the location -- and we need lots of help to make this successful.

Volunteers will do a variety of things: organizing attendees, registering them on the computer (for you computer savvy folks), giving directions for getting the boxes, handing out boxes, distributing produce and bread and offering information about resources and other pantries.  Bilingual speakers are needed at all sites.

At certain sites we need lots of help but at all of them we can use some help. The site locations are Freedom Center, Summit View, Clements, El Pueblo (very large), Quincie Douglas (large), Northwest, Archer Center (large), Udall, Armory.

We are particularly looking for help at El Pueblo (two dates), Quincie Douglas, Northwest, and Archer, but we can use help at all sites.

Please consider helping us make this a success!

Requirements:  must be 16 years of age or older.
