Rillito Clean-up
Saturday, March 28, 2009
8 am to 3 pm
Two hundred volunteers are needed to clean-up Rillito, a small and economically challenged community. The residents are mostly senior citizens in fragile health. The sixty-seven households struggle to maintain their homes but do not have the resources to haul trash and clean yards.
Pima County Community Services is recruiting individuals or teams to do basic yard cleaning, raking and hauling trash to the curb. Volunteers are asked to bring their own tools and gloves. Front loaders will be available to haul trash to designated dumpsters.
Lunch, water and sodas will be provided. All work will be outdoors so volunteers should wear hats, sunscreen and protective shoes.
Pima County staff will provide leadership and coordination for the day's activities, including assignment to a team and team assignment to a specific area such as a public area or home.
Enjoy meeting the residents and other volunteers, and
feel great about your team's effort to improve the community.
