Arizona Sonora Desert Museum Wants Security Volunteers!
Is there a better way to get some exercise, put your initiative to good use, and work in a beautiful place than to become a Security Volunteer at the Desert Museum?
If you were a Security Volunteer, you would help with:
· Traffic Control
· First Aid
· Parking Cars
· Visitor Assists
You would work right alongside the security staff and your uniform looks a lot like theirs. Many visitors will come to you when they need help. You would work on the museum grounds, doing foot patrols, answering visitors' questions, keeping an eye on visitor behavior, and providing assistance in first aid cases and other emergencies.
You would use a radio for communications and if your schedule allows you might work special events, sometimes at night, providing assistance to guests and providing back-up to the museum's security staff. This is a fun, people-oriented, active job with considerable responsibility.
Position requirements: Security volunteers must be physically fit and able to do a lot of walking, some lifting, and lots of standing for periods of time. This job requires being able to work flexible shifts (some at night)and being able to work in weather extremes of heat, rain or cold. Security volunteers go through considerable training which includes how to drive electric carts, radio communications and first aid.
