The Mentoring Empowerment Program, with the help of volunteer mentors, will assist and empower previously incarcerated individuals to re-connect with our community to make positive life choices.
The goal is to assist the re-entry population (prior non-violence convictions) to attain a greater quality of life by providing encouragement, problem solving, facilitating personal growth, develop healthy relationships, explore resources and network in the community.
The mentor can help an individual realize their unlimited potential and achieve positive results in their occupation, personal lives and community -- through one on one or group mentoring emphasizing communication, problem solving, connection to the community and building trust.
The Mentoring Empowerment Program developed by Old Pueblo Community Foundation is a new leading edge component of the Pima County Prisoner Re-Entry Partnership (PREP) to reduce recidivism.
