Volunteer Center United Way Of Greater Knoxville
The United Way of Greater Knoxville Volunteers Center is a strategy for building a better community by mobilizing our most valuable resource--people. United Way of Greater Knoxville brings together resources to improve the lives of people in our community by helping them achieve their potential for self sufficiency.
Description:
Facilitating collaborations around key issues, providing financial and non-financial assistance to new and existing agency programs, and leveraging community support for these efforts are just a few of the strategies employed by United Way in order to build a better community. Recognizing that "giving back" to the community comes in a variety of forms, the Volunteer Center provides a way for people to utilize their unique talents and skills to help others.
History:
Since 1977, nonprofit organizations have relied on the Volunteer Center to match the needs in the community with interested volunteers. The center works to ensure that groups and individuals find appropriate volunteer opportunities beneficial to them and nonprofit organizations.
