Helen Ross McNabb
Our mission is simple - to improve the lives of the people we serve. We will succeed by embracing the differences among staff and people in the community, by encouraging the creativity of our staff, by listening to our customers, by maintaining a well-trained and highly motivated staff, by surpassing the standards of excellence in all that we do, and by practicing fiscal responsibility and programmatic innovation.
Description:
The Center is accredited by CARF (the Commission for Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) for its mental health programs (case management and outpatient), psychosocial rehabilitation programs, alcohol and other drug programs (adult detoxification, residential, and outpatient treatment; children and adolescent prevention, residential, and outpatient treatment), and employment services programs. This represents the highest level of accreditation awarded by CARF, and means that the Center has met internationally recognized standards of quality in providing outcomes-driven programs and services. It is also an indication of both the organization's and the staff's dedication and commitment to improving the quality of the lives of the people receiving services.
History:
The Helen Ross McNabb Center was founded in 1948 to provide children's mental health services in the greater Knoxville community. Today's challenges are met with the same pioneering spirit and desire to improve the quality of life in this area as first shown by Helen Ross McNabb. In response to and in anticipation of changes in the health care market, the Center uses its 61 years of experience to refine and reorganize current services, and to develop new programs and partnerships.
