Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Position Objective: To provide up to 10 hours a month to Child & Family Tennessee as an unpaid volunteer during the 2009 – 2010 school year.

Term of Service: 2009 – 2010 school year

Essential Functions:

  • Participate in TTA Youth Council Meetings either at your school or at the designated Child & Family Tennessee Program
  • Develop / learn leadership qualities that will be utilized in your peer group as well as in life
  • Participate in Fundraising activities that you develop
  • Utilize earned funds to participate in and / or provide peer activities that are approved by Child & Family Tennessee (ex. movies, skating, theme parks, etc...)
  • Serve as a volunteer representative of Child & Family Tennessee in the community.
  • Communicate with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure the success of you as the volunteer, as well as the success of Child & Family Tennessee
  • Qualifications:

    • Must be 13 to 23 years of age
    • Must be willing to participate in TTA Youth Council Meetings / activities as scheduled
    • Must be willing to learn Leadership, Communication, Organizational, and Project Management skills

    • Skills:
    • Must obtain or be willing to learn positive peer communication skills
    • Must have or be willing to learn how to be positive and have a good outlook on life
    • Ability to interact with and mentor peers while utilizing the rules, regulations, and standards of Child & Family Tennessee
    • Ability to speak, read, and write English at appropriate level
    • High level of motivation, enthusiasm, energy, and creativity
