Volunteer Opportunity Details:

Position Objective and Term of Service: To provide 4 to 8 hours a month to Child & Family Tennessee as an unpaid volunteer for 3 months.

Essential Functions:

• Meet with youth for 1 to 2 hours a week or biweekly as a mentor
• Participate in and / or provide youth activities that are approved by Child & Family Tennessee
• Serve as a volunteer representative of Child & Family Tennessee in the community.
• Communicate with the Volunteer Coordinator to ensure the success of you as the volunteer, as well as the success of Child & Family Tennessee

Qualifications:


• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have own transportation or ability to arrive at the program at scheduled time
• Must be available weekly or biweekly for a 2 hour time period on weekdays between the hours of 4:30pm and 9:00pm or weekends
  
  
Skills:

• Excellent communication skills (assertive, yet verbally affirming – i.e. “You can do it!”)
• Must be positive and have a good outlook on life
• Ability to interact with and mentor youth while utilizing the rules, regulations, and standards of Child & Family Tennessee
• Ability to speak, read, and write English at a High School Level
• High level of motivation, enthusiasm, energy, and creativity
