The LFA is leading efforts to find the cure for lupus and help people who are affected by the disease.

Description:
The LFA, Arizona Chapter is the local arm of the nation's leading non-profit, voluntary health organization dedicated to improving the diagnosis and treatment of lupus, supporting and providing hope to individuals, their families and friends affected by the disease, increasing awareness of lupus among health professionals and the public, and finding the cure.
The Lupus Foundation of America, Arizona Chapter, will be the leaders of the lupus movement statewide.

Services Provided by the Arizona Chapter ~
Support Groups
Lupus patients, families and friends meet to discuss challenges, feelings and issues regarding lupus.
Lupus Line
If calls are not answered during the day, a 24 hour answering service with a tape recording is available for you to leave your questions or concerns. Calls returned usually within 48 hours for information, literature, physician list, education seminars and general lupus support.

Education Seminars / Info. Sessions
Seminars set up twice a year regarding issues involving Lupus i.e. new drug developments, medical issues, new research studies, diagnosis of Lupus, how to cope with a disease, etc.

Health Fairs and Community Gatherings
We send people to community meetings to provide educational materials and literature to patients and their families concerning the disease.
Newsletter
We publish a quarterly newsletter for chapter members, health care providers and Lupus patients and families regarding chapter activities and health issues.

Lupus information packs
We supply lupus information, literature, support group list, a physician referral list, dates for education symposium and other chapter activities in a packet that is sent to all that contact the chapter office.

Catherine Lamphier Scholarship Fund
The CLSF Scholarship Fund has been established by the Arizona Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America, Inc. for the purpose of aiding students who have been diagnosed with lupus or whose parents have been diagnosed with lupus. Scholarships of up to $500 will be awarded to one or more students in the month of October and March each year.

Patient Assistance/Program Services
One resource members of the LFA, AZ Chapter have is help during financially difficult times. We understand that unanticipated situations arise. Help with lupus-related medical expenses.
