The El Cajon Community Development Corporation is a nonprofit community based organization working to ensure the economic vitality of Downtown El Cajon. We take a comprehensive approach to a healthy downtown and all of our programs work toward this goal. We believe Downtown El Cajon should have a/an:
Flourishing business sector: we provide business owners resources such as grant funding to help their businesses thrive
Engaged residential population: we survey community members and put on monthly clean-ups in the neighborhoods in our district
Accessible affordable housing: we are wrapping up our first affordable housing development and we put on an annual Homeownership Fair.
Clean, safe and attractive streets: our Ambassador program patrols the streets to keep a watchful ear and eye on the community
Free family friendly events: we put on the Cajon Classic Cruise, Concerts on the Green, and Alley Cat Art Walk each year

Administrative Volunteers are accepted year-round and are called upon on an as-needed basis. Duties include answering phones, filing, making phone calls to update records, preparing binders/packets and assisting with special projects. Previous experience is not required, but volunteers must be available during office hours (Monday - Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm).
Attendance at a Volunteer Orientation, held on the First Friday of each month, is required before service begins.
