Inspired by Family Volunteer Day, the Volunteer-a-Thon is a month long event taking place in November. As a Volunteer-a-Thon participant, you’ll be joining thousands of other caring Americans across the country as they act locally and make a national difference. Here’s how it works. As an individual, family, or group, you will sign up to volunteer with your favorite nonprofit. You will also line up sponsorships, much in the same way you would for a walk-a-thon. Proceeds will go to help your favorite nonprofit (for example, a charity working to combat homelessness, help animals, or support the environment) and to The Volunteer Family to strengthen the national family volunteering network. There really is no better way to support causes that are important to you. So, this year, join those who are making the holiday season count.
