It is the mission and goal of Samaritan Care, An Affiliate of Hospice Compassus to provide optimum comfort and support to those we serve including, but not limited to: Focus on the care of the Dying while living life to the fullest; The patient and family as a unit;Palliative Care(managing symptoms related to the patients' terminal disease);Psychosocial Support (providing emotional support, volunteers,coping with grief and loss;and Spiritual Support through validation of life philosophy and values.

Samaritan Care/Hospice Compassus strives to maintain a culture of service excellence and has developed an eight point service commitment which includes service, urgency, caring responsibility, communication, response,compassion, and feedback. We value our volunteers who are considered to be our unpaid employees and as our eyes, ears, and heart of our organization. We view volunteering as the highest expression of love and service.

History:
Hospice Compassus opened its first hospice in 1979. It is a family of community based hospices. Our nationwide network is a vast resource of information benefiting both our patients and their families. The Affliliates of Hospice Compassus (Samaritan Care) have a common culture around three core values:compassion,integrity, and excellence. Our primary goals are to provide the highest quality hospice care in every community in which we operate. Our volunteers are an integral part of our team in supporting our common culture of excellence
