McKinney Main Street

Vision:
McKinney's vibrant downtown will offer retail, office, arts, entertainment, residential, restaurant and leisure opportunities for McKinney's residents and visitors from the region and beyond to promote business, heritage, tourism and community identity.
Our mission is to maintain and enhance a vibrant downtown area through economic redevelopment, design, organization and promotion, as part of McKinney's Main Street Program.

Description:
McKinney Main Street is a community-initiated, volunteer-driven, and professionally directed 501c3 organization. Working within the context of our historically significant Downtown Square and Mill districts, the program uses the Four-Point Approach to bolster our community's economic vitality and preservation ethic. The Four-Point Approach is represented by four standing committees: Organization, Design, Marketing, and Economic Redevelopment. Volunteer opportunities range from serving on the board or committee, to simply staffing a volunteer booth.

History:
McKinney Main Street has been active in McKinney for five years. The program currently has 4 standing committees and over 100 volunteers working on projects that directly impact downtown. The program is a public/private partnership in that half of our budget is funded through the City of McKinney and the other half is funded through contributions from the private sector. McKinney. We're always looking for volunteers because working together...we can make it happen!!
