North Collin County Habitat for Humanity
Logo

Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety.

Description:
North Collin County Habitat for Humanity is a Christian Housing Ministry that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and makes decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat builds new relationships and a sense of community, as well as new housing. Through volunteer labor, management, expertise, and tax-deductible donations of money and material, Habitat builds homes with the help of homeowners. Homes are sold at no profit to "partner families" with "zero" interest mortgages for a fixed period of time. North Collin County Habitat for Humanity serves McKinney, Frisco, Celina, Princeton, and Melissa, as well as other small towns in North Collin County. Please note that we do not build homes in Plano--please contact South Collin County Habitat for Humanity if that interests you.

History:
North Collin County Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat for Humanity International was started by Millard and Linda Fuller in 1976. North Collin County Habitat for Humanity was incorporated in 1992. As of 2008, 50 homes have been built in the McKinney, Celina, Melissa, and Princeton areas.
